Odisha Vigilance Department has arrested Satyanarayan Sethy, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of Kotpad in Koraput district in connection with a disproportionate assets (DA) case. During searches conducted by Vigilance officials, assets worth crores were found acquired beyond known sources of income. The seizure list includes 49 plots of land, out of which 17 have been identified as benami. Vigilance teams further recovered 3 farmhouses spread across 14 acres of land in Koraput district. One additional benami flat and another flat were also seized. In addition, 940 grams of gold, 1.5 kg of silver, and one four-wheeler vehicle registered in a benami name were taken into custody. Officials also recovered cash amounting to ₹5.48 lakh and bank deposits worth ₹60.92 lakh during raid. The arrest and seizures are part of Vigilance’s ongoing drive against corruption and misuse of public office. Further investigation is underway.
