Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in Abu Dhabi, marking the first leg of his five-Nation visit. During the visit, PM Modi met UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The two leaders held wide-ranging talks and exchanged views on bilateral, regional, and global issues of mutual interest. The visit saw the conclusion of several key agreements across vital sectors including energy, defence, infrastructure, shipping, and advanced technology. The two sides also signed a MoU related to strategic petroleum reserves, along with an agreement concerning supplies of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). Another important development was the signing of an MoU for creation of a ship repair cluster at Vadinar in Gujarat. In a major investment announcement, the UAE committed investments worth $5 billion in Indian infrastructure projects as well as in RBL Bank and Samman Capital.
