Odisha Supply Minister Krushna Chandra Patra on Wednesday said there is no shortage of petrol or diesel in the State and urged people not to resort to panic buying, Addressing concerns after long queues were seen at several petrol pumps across the State, the Minister clarified that Odisha currently has petrol and diesel stock to last for 13 days. Oil marketing companies have confirmed adequate reserves. Distribution is being monitored daily to ensure smooth supply to all districts. Despite the assurance, many petrol pumps have witnessed heavy crowding over the past two days. Due to the sudden rush, several pump owners have started giving fuel in limited quantities to manage the crowd. The Supply Minister advised people not to panic and buy fuel unnecessarily. “If everyone tries to fill tanks at once, it creates artificial pressure. We request citizens to purchase as per normal requirement,” he said.
