Hyderabad: Political circles in Telangana were rocked after a POCSO case was filed against Bandi Bageerath, son of Union Minister and senior BJP leader Bandi Sanjay Kumar, over allegations made by a minor girl. According to police sources, the complaint accuses the young man of misconduct and harassment involving a 17-year-old. Following the complaint, police registered a case under provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and began an investigation. In a dramatic turn, Bageerath later approached the police with a counter-complaint, alleging that the accusations were linked to an attempted extortion racket. He reportedly claimed that ₹5 crore was demanded from him to settle the matter privately and avoid legal action. Officials are now probing both versions of the case simultaneously.
