Asian Games 2026: India Win 2 More Gold Medals in Compound Archery and Mixed Trap

India added two more gold medals to its tally at the Asian Games on Wednesday, with the country triumphing in men’s compound archery and the Mixed Trap event. The two victories took India’s gold-medal tally to 10 overall, with four gold medals won so far on the day.

In a thrilling men’s compound archery final, Kushal Dalal, Sahil Jadhav and Ganesh Mani Ratnam Thirumuru produced a sensational comeback to defeat China 238-237 and secure the gold medal.

The Indian trio showed tremendous composure under pressure, making a remarkable comeback in the final end to edge past their Chinese opponents in a dramatic finish.

The victory also completed a hat-trick of gold medals for India in compound archery, following gold-medal triumphs by the mixed team and women’s team.

Earlier, India’s Chikitha Taniparthi and Sahil Jadhav won gold in the compound mixed team event after defeating South Korea in a tense shoot-off. Their victory also secured India a 2028 Olympic quota place.

India’s shooting contingent added another gold medal to the tally in the Mixed Trap event. Neeru Dhanda and Kynan Chenai delivered a strong performance to finish on top and claim the gold.

The Indian duo scored 34 in the final after entering the medal round in fourth position, producing a determined performance to climb to the top of the podium.

With these two victories, India has now won four gold medals on Wednesday, taking its overall gold-medal tally at the Asian Games to 10.
