NTA Exam Row: UGC-NET Question Papers Had Multiple Errors, NTA Admits
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced a re-examination for 3 subjects of the UGC-NET exam after several errors were found in the question papers.
 
During the recently conducted UGC-NET exam, candidates and experts flagged multiple mistakes in the question papers of 3 subjects. Following widespread complaints from students and teachers, NTA has now acknowledged the errors in the question papers.
 
The errors included wrong questions, incorrect answer options, and technical issues. Following widespread complaints, NTA reviewed the papers and admitted to the lapses.
 
In a statement NTA said, it had received several complaints about multiple errors in the papers of English, Commerce and Sociology.
 
NTA formed a committee to enquire into and look into these errors and as per the recommendation of the committee, NTA will re-conduct exams in these subjects to ensure a fair and error-free examination.
 
Re-examination schedule:
➡️English: 9 September 2026, Shift 1
➡️Commerce: 9 September 2026, Shift 2
➡️Sociology: 10 September 2026, Shift 1
 
No additional fee for these candidates.
Results for the other 84 subjects will be declared as scheduled.
Allocation of seats will not be reduced.
