The Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) has released its report for 2024-25, revealing donation details of regional political parties in India. DMK received the highest donations among all regional parties. The party collected over ₹365 crore in donations, making it the top regional party in terms of funding. The All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) received the second-highest amount in political donations among regional parties during the 2024-25 financial year. Among the Top 5 regional parties, YSR Congress, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and AIADMK, ranked third, fourth and fifth, respectively. Collectively, the Top 5 regional parties received a total of ₹840 crore in donations. BJD received ₹60 crore in donations during the same period. The ADR report highlights the growing role of political funding in shaping regional politics and the significant financial gap between parties. Donations to Regional political parties increased from Rs 347.554 crore to Rs 1,036.323 crore, an increase of Rs 688.769 crore (198.18%). The findings are based on the Election Commission of India (ECI) data on donations received by regional political parties during the 2024-25 financial year, analysed by the ADR.
