The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration has written to the District Collector of Firozpur, Punjab, seeking a halt on the untimely Ratha Jatra scheduled for May 23. In the letter, the SJTA stated that the proposed untimely Ratha Jatra is deeply hurting the religious sentiments of devotees. The administration has urged the Firozpur Collector to stop the event, citing that Ratha Jatra is traditionally held on a specific tithi as per the Hindu calendar and any deviation violates age-old customs.
