In an another blow to TMC Chief Mamata Banerjee, Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha MP Sushmita Dev has officially resigned from the Upper House (Rajya Sabha). Sushmita becomes the second TMC MP to resign from the Rajya Sabha after Sukhendu Shekhar Roy within a week. She tendered her resignation to Vice President CP Radhakrishnan in a letter. After Dev met Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma in New Delhi on Wednesday, there is speculation that she may join the BJP at a later stage. The TMC crisis intensified after a group of TMC Lok Sabha MPs, led by Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar signalled support for the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance.
