Death toll of Odia migrant workers in the ammonia gas leak at a seafood processing factory in Tamil Nadu has risen to 5, Labour Minister Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia informed on Monday. According to the Minister, the deceased have been identified as Jimani Juang, Gita Juang, Bhumia Juang, Shibani Juang and Phulamani Juang. Following Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi’s direction, a 3-member team from Odisha has rushed to Tamil Nadu to coordinate relief and ensure proper assistance to the affected families. The State Government is in touch with Tamil Nadu authorities for compensation and transportation of bodies back to Odisha. The incident occurred on Sunday at a seafood factory in Periyapalaiyam, Tiruvallur district, Tamil Nadu.
