Highlighting India’s economic growth and the expanding reach of the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, inaugurated the Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2026 in Mumbai. Taking FinTech beyond payments to credit, insurance, savings, investments and pensions, the GFF 2026 is being held in Mumbai from September 8 to 11. Speaking about India’s fintech journey, the Prime Minister said, “India’s fintech story has been amazing. A big champion of this is UPI. India is taking its fintech journey to new heights, with innovation and inclusion at its core. The GFF is the world’s largest annual conference on fintech and related sectors. Every year it convenes leading policymakers, regulators, central bankers, industry captains, innovators, and academicians from across the world to deliberate upon the opportunities and challenges before the global fintech ecosystem.
