India and Vietnam on Wednesday finalised a comprehensive trade roadmap aimed at more than doubling bilateral trade to $25 billion by 2030. The announcement came as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the President of Vietnam, To Lam, witnessed the exchange of several MoUs at Hyderabad House in Delhi. The leaders witnessed exchange of 13 MoUs across key sectors, including rare earth minerals, culture, cross-border digital payments, health, tourism, education, academic exchanges, sister-city cooperation, audit, and digital partnership, reflecting the scope and ambition of the India-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The discussions focused on the areas of defence & security, trade & investment, science & technology, development partnership, maritime cooperation, critical and rare earth minerals, space, renewable energy, including atomic energy, culture and people-to-people linkages.
