Senior Congress leader Pawan Khera appeared before the Assam Crime Branch on Wednesday in connection with the defamation case filed by Riniki Bhuyan Sharma, wife of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The complaint was filed over Khera’s allegations that Riniki Bhuyan possessed multiple foreign passports and had financial interests abroad. Earlier, the Supreme Court had granted anticipatory bail to Pawan Khera in the matter.
