The Centre introduced the amendment bill, after nationwide student protests over the NEET controversy. Union Minister Jitendra Singh introduced the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026, for a discussion. The Bill was passed by a voice vote amid opposition sloganeering and a walkout.
