The India Intellectual Property (IP) Office has approved trademark registration for two words and one logo associated with Shree Jagannatha Temple, Puri. The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) had filed 29 applications for trademark registration of words & logo associated with Puri Temple to protect its unique spiritual, cultural & institutional identity. Two important words– “Ananda Bajara”, “Patitapabana” & Nilachakra logo have been granted registration by the India Intellectual Property (IP) Office. Approval for 26 more temple-related names & terms are expected soon. The temple administration has also applied for a registration for the name Jagannath Dham.
