Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi has written to West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, urging a change in the name of the newly built Jagannath temple in Digha from ‘Digha Jagannath Dham’ to ‘Shree Jagannath Mandir, Digha’. In the letter, Odisha CM Majhi highlighted that Puri Srikhetra is recognized by all as one of the Char Dham, a status revered by devotees across the World. He stated that the use of ‘Dham’ for the Digha temple is hurting the religious sentiments of millions of Jagannath devotees. CM Majhi also requested the West Bengal CM to personally intervene in the matter and take necessary steps to address the issue.
