A terrorist was killed in a joint operation by the Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF in Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir. The encounter took place after security personnel launched an operation in the area following inputs about the presence of terrorists. During the ensuing exchange of fire, a LeT terrorist was killed. Security forces recovered an AK-47 rifle and other weapons and ammunition from the possession of the slain terrorist. The operation has not yet concluded as security forces are continuing searches in the area as another terrorist is believed to be hiding in the same forested region.
