An Air India pilot operating a Phuket–Delhi flight has been sacked after testing positive for drugs during a mandatory pre-flight medical examination. The Pilot-in-Command of the Phuket-Delhi flight tested positive for a psychoactive substance. Following which Air India initiated disciplinary action in accordance with its safety protocols and applicable aviation regulations. The Airbus A320, carrying 137 passengers and eight crew members, suddenly dropped around 300 feet before stabilising and landing safely.
