A low pressure area has formed over the Bay of Bengal on wednesday morning, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its latest bulletin. According to the IMD, the system was created at 5:30 AM near the West Bengal-Bangladesh coast due to an active cyclonic circulation in the region. There is a possibility that it will further intensify and move in a north-west direction within the next 48 hours. Due to its impact, rainfall in the state may increase further. The Regional Meteorological Centre has issued a weather alert for thunderstorms and rain across the entire state today. Orange Warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at one or two places in Angul and Keonjhar districts. Yellow Alert of eavy rain has been forecast for 15 districts. This kind of weather is expected to continue for the next 4 days in the state.
