Two senior Odisha cadre IPS officers – Sudhansu Sarangi (1990-batch) and Padmakar S. Ranipse (1995 batch) have been empanelled for Director General (DG) and DG-equivalent posts at the Centre. While, Sarangi is posted as Director General, Fire Service, CO, HG & Director, CD, Odisha, Ranpise is currently serving as the Additional Director General (ADG) of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). The Central Government has approved the empanelment of 33 senior IPS officers for appointment to DG and DG-equivalent posts in the Government of India.
