Union Minister Pralhad Joshi has been assigned the additional charge of the Ministry of Education, following the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan. The decision was announced by the Government on Saturday. Joshi, who currently holds key portfolios as Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution & New and Renewable Energy, will now oversee the Education Ministry alongside his existing responsibilities. As advised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Droupadi Murmu has directed that Pralhad Joshi be assigned the charge of the Ministry of Education, in addition to his existing portfolio. The move is being seen as a temporary arrangement as the government prepares for a full-fledged appointment to the portfolio in the coming days.
