Senior 2002-batch Odisha cadre IPS officer Amitendra Nath Sinha has been appointed as an Inspector General (IG) of the Border Security Force (BSF) by the Centre. Sinha, who is currently serving as an IG in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), will take charge of his new assignment following the appointment order issued by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. As per the notification, his tenure as BSF IG will continue from the date he assumes charge until July 10, 2028, or until further orders from the Government. Sinha has been serving on central deputation for a five-year term since July 11, 2023.
