Olympic champion and Indian javelin throw superstar Neeraj Chopra added another medal to India’s tally at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, winning the silver medal in the men’s javelin throw. Neeraj delivered a best throw of 85.83 meters to finish second on the podium. In a proud moment for India, Yashveer Singh also secured a medal in the same event. Yashveer threw 85.41 meters to clinch the bronze medal, making it a double podium finish for India in men’s javelin. The third Indian in the fray, Rohit Yadav finished seventh with a best throw of 81.56m. Sri Lankan star Rumesh Tharanga Pathirage won the gold as expected with a best throw of 89.75m.
