The Bharatiya Janata Party has released its list of nominees for the upcoming Rajya Sabha Elections 2026, fielding 11 leaders from six States. The party has also named its candidate for the Odisha by-election to the Upper House. For the 2026 Rajya Sabha elections, the BJP has nominated Tai Tagak from Arunachal Pradesh. From Gujarat, the party has fielded three candidates: Rajubhai Shukla, Mukeshbhai Rathwa, and Mansingh Parmar. Senior leader Tarun Chugh and Rajneesh Agrawal have been nominated from Madhya Pradesh. A. Sharda Devi will represent the party from Manipur, while Alka Gurjar and Satish Poonia have been named from Rajasthan. In a significant move for Odisha, the saffron party has nominated Debashish Samantaray for the Rajya Sabha by-election scheduled in 2026. The by-poll was necessitated following the vacancy in the seat from the State. The elections to the Rajya Sabha and the Odisha bypoll are scheduled to be held in 2026. The Election Commission will soon announce the detailed schedule for nominations, scrutiny, and polling.
