The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the Southwest Monsoon has advanced further and covered the entire Nicobar Islands and parts of the Andaman Islands. The monsoon has also progressed into parts of the Southeast Arabian Sea. It has further advanced into the Southeast and Southwest Bay of Bengal. The early arrival over the Andaman & Nicobar Islands signals that conditions are becoming favourable for the monsoon’s onset over Kerala in the coming days.
