Prime Minister Modi said the New Delhi Declaration 2026 had been adopted unanimously, with no member raising any objections. The Delhi BRICS Declaration has condemned unilateral declarations of war and stressed the importance of ensuring nuclear safety even during times of conflict. The declaration was issued with the consensus of all 21 BRICS countries, with member states agreeing on the need to avoid disruptions to international trade. Emphasising peace and dialogue, the declaration called for resolving conflicts through negotiations and peaceful means. It also expressed concern over unilateral tariff hikes and nuclear threats, highlighting the need for greater stability and cooperation in international affairs. BRICS nations called for stronger global action to promote international peace and security. BRICS nations expressed deep concern over escalating tensions in the Middle East and West Asia and called for maximum restraint to prevent further deterioration of the situation.
