The Odisha unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will observe Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday with a month-long series of programmes focused on public service and outreach. The campaign will be held from September 17 to October 17, with party leaders and workers organising various service activities across the state. The initiative aims to take the message of public welfare and service to the grassroots, State BJP President Manmohan Samal said at a press conference on Thursday. The celebrations will include blood donation camps, programmes in schools and colleges, street plays, Sankalp Yatras, competitions and other public outreach activities. On the evening of September 17, beneficiaries across the state will also be encouraged to light lamps at their homes. Samal said MLAs and other public representatives will attend speech competitions, while street plays titled “Namo Seva Gatha” will be staged at roadsides and major intersections. He added that BJP leaders and workers will reach the grassroots with a message highlighting 25 major services and initiatives associated with PM Modi’s 25 years in public life.
