The India Meteorological Department said the southwest monsoon is expected to cover Odisha in the coming week, bringing much-needed relief from the ongoing heat and humidity. According to the latest forecast of the weather department, weather conditions are becoming favourable for the monsoon to advance further into more parts of the country. The monsoon made significant progress today. It has advanced into the entire state of Goa, parts of Karnataka, most areas of Tamil Nadu, and some parts of Andhra Pradesh.
