Errors in Textbooks: SCERT Director Apologises, Instructs Teachers to Correct
The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) has admitted errors in this year’s school textbooks.

SCERT Director Madhusmita Sahoo has said such mistakes will not be repeated from the 2027-28 academic session. Addressing the issue, the Director said, textbooks have already been supplied to schools this year and teachers have been informed about the errors.

To address the errors immediately, teachers have been asked to make corrections in textbooks of younger students in classrooms.

For senior students, teachers will guide them to identify and correct the mistakes in their books themselves. The SCERT Director assured that once new textbooks are printed for the 2027-28 academic year, the errors will be completely removed.
