Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned from his post amid nationwide outrage and massive protests over the alleged NEET-UG paper leak. The resignation comes after weeks of student-led demonstrations across the country demanding accountability, a re-exam, and a probe into irregularities in the medical entrance test. Protesters, including students and opposition parties, have been calling for the minister’s resignation, alleging lapses in the National Testing Agency’s handling of the exam. Several FIRs have been filed and CBI investigations are underway in multiple states related to the paper leak and paper manipulation claims. In his resignation letter, Pradhan said he was taking “moral responsibility” for the situation and urged that student interests remain the top priority.
