Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk has announced that he will continue his fast after alleging that peacefully protesting youth were met with “brutality”. In a post on X, Wangchuk wrote that seeing the brutality with which peacefully protesting youth are being dealt with, he has decided to continue fast until the youth leaders are allowed to meet the Parliamentarians at the Sansad Bhawan to present their demands. Wangchuk has been leading protests and awareness campaigns on issues related to Ladakh, environment protection, and governance. His latest statement comes amid heightened security and detention of protestors during the recent ‘Chalo Sansad’ march in Delhi.
