The Central Government has ordered a temporary ban on messaging app Telegram until June 22. The move comes in the wake of the upcoming NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination.

Authorities believe the ban is necessary to curb the spread of question paper leaks and other malpractices on the platform during the critical exam period.

Officials said the restriction is a precautionary step to ensure the integrity of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test re-exam.

The ban will remain in effect till June 22. Students and coaching centers have been advised to use alternative communication channels during this period.

National Testing Agency (NTA) appealed not to believe in rumours while requesting to provide information if any question papers are offered. No one has question papers before the exam. Strict action will be taken immediately after the report, NTA informed.
