Dharmendra Pradhan faces Privilege Notice in Rajya Sabha over NEET paper leak remarks
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan may face privilege proceedings in the Rajya Sabha after a notice was submitted against him for allegedly lowering the dignity of Parliament.

The notice cites remarks made by the Minister at a press conference following the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak. Pradhan is already facing calls to resign over the irregularities in the medical entrance exam.

Congress chief whip in the Rajya Sabha Jairam Ramesh on Monday moved the notice against Pradhan, accusing him of making “derogatory” comments against a parliamentary committee.

According to Ramesh, Parliamentary committees are an extension of the Parliament of India, and are rightly referred to as mini-Parliament.

The privilege notice adds to the political pressure on the Education Minister as the NEET-UG paper leak row continues to escalate.
