West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday refused to step down, asserting that the people’s mandate remains with her and alleging a conspiracy behind the election results. “We have not lost. Around 100 seats have been looted. Counting was deliberately slowed down to break our morale,” the TMC supremo said while addressing the media. Banerjee claimed that her fight was not against the BJP but against the Election Commission. The Bengal CM alleged large-scale irregularities in the counting process and said the results do not reflect the will of the people.
