The Centre has reduced the booking interval for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) refills from 45 days to 25 days, allowing consumers to book their next cylinder earlier. The revised 25-day booking interval will apply uniformly to LPG consumers across both urban and rural areas, with immediate effect. Union Minister of State for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Tourism Suresh Gopi said on Monday that the central government has directed oil marketing companies (OMCs) to immediately implement the uniform 25-day LPG refill booking interval across the country. Earlier, the refill booking interval had been revised amid pressure on LPG supplies following the conflict in the Middle East. The revised booking period is expected to provide greater flexibility to consumers and ensure timely access to LPG refills, particularly in areas facing supply-related challenges.
