Former MLA Bikram Panda was released from jail after the Orissa High Court granted him bail in connection with the murder case of lawyer Pitabas Panda. Following his release, party leaders and workers welcomed him with a procession and accompanied him from the jail. Bikram Panda had been arrested in connection with the murder of advocate and BJP leader Pitabas Panda, who was killed in Brahmpur. His release came after the High Court granted him bail in the case. Pitabash was shot dead by two motorcycle-borne assailants while returning home from his chambers on October 6, 2025. Bikram Panda, the former MLA from the Brahmapur constituency, had been in judicial custody for more than 10 months.
