Air Marshal Jitendra Mishra has been appointed as the first Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust in Ayodhya, marking a significant step towards strengthening the Trust’s administrative framework. As the Trust’s highest executive authority, the CEO will oversee its officers, functionaries, employees and staff, with responsibility for ensuring effective administration and coordination of its activities. Air Marshal Mishra served in the Indian Air Force for nearly four decades. He retired in 2026 after serving as the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Air Command. The appointment comes amid significant governance reforms aimed at improving the administration, accountability and transparency of the Trust. The reforms assume importance as the Trust has faced scrutiny over certain controversies in the past.
