The death toll in the tragic hostel building collapse incident at Satya Niketan in Delhi has risen to seven. A total of 12 people have been rescued so far.
 
According to preliminary information, a five-storey boys’ paying guest (PG) accommodation, named as “Hostel Daze”, collapsed in Delhi’s Satya Niketan near Delhi University’s South Campus on Sunday afternoon.
 
The structure stood in a congested by lane near a Shiv temple in the RK Puram/Moti Bagh area.
 
Both students and workers are among those who lost their lives in the incident. Rescue and relief operations are underway by the NDRF, Delhi Fire Service, Delhi Police and other agencies, while authorities are assessing the circumstances that led to the building collapse.
 
Several students may still be trapped, with some residents saying they received calls from people under the rubble.
