In a significant boost to rural employment and livelihoods, Odisha Cabinet has approved the Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G) scheme, replacing MGNREGA. It will be implemented in all rural areas of the State from 1 July 2026. Under the initiative, every eligible rural household will be guaranteed a minimum of 120 days of wage employment per financial year. As per the notificcation, Job must be provided within 15 days of application; if not, an unemployment allowance is paid. Adult members (18 years and above) can apply for work.
