In a major political jolt to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, rebel Trinamool Congress leader Ritabrata Banerjee claimed to have become Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly. He requested Mamata Banerjee to be the Chief Advisor. At a press conference, rebel Trinamool Congress leader Ritabrata Banerjee announced that 58 out of the total 80 MLAs elected to the assembly from the party have the support to Ritabrata.
