Posters backing K. Annamalai have surfaced across Tamil Nadu, reigniting speculation about the former state BJP president’s political future and a possible new party. Amid ongoing buzz over Annamalai’s exit from the BJP, banners expressing support for him have appeared in Madurai. The posters, put up by his supporters, have added to talk that he may chart an independent political course in the state. Similar posters and banners have also come up in Coimbatore ahead of Annamalai’s birthday on June 4. The messages call for his return to active politics and project him as a leader for Tamil Nadu. Annamalai stepped down as Tamil Nadu BJP President in April 2025. Since then, there has been persistent speculation about his next move, including the possibility of floating a new outfit. Neither Annamalai nor his close aides have commented on the posters or on plans to launch a new party. BJP state leadership has also not issued a statement on the latest developments.
