ISRO launches EOS-05, India's First Geosynchronous Imaging Satellite, Into Orbit

In a major milestone for India’s space programme, ISRO’s GSLV-F17 has successfully accomplished its mission, placing EOS-05 into the intended orbit.

GSLV-F17 has successfully lifted off from from the Second Launch Pad at Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota and placed the 2,367 kg EOS-05 in orbit.

EOS-05 will be India’s first dedicated Earth-imaging satellite operating from geostationary orbit, observing the Indian subcontinent at a stated resolution of 40 metres.
