India has rescued 163 Indian nationals from flood-hit Nepal, while 151 Indians have left China, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Tuesday. External Affairs Minister of India Dr. S. Jaishankar said that India is continuing its relief and rescue operations in close coordination with the Nepalese authorities. An Indian tunnel rescue team is currently engaged in rescue efforts at the Chilime hydropower tunnels. Meanwhile, an Indian forensic team has expanded DNA examination and analysis in coordination with Nepalese authorities to assist in the identification process. As part of the ongoing humanitarian efforts, the fifth Indian aircraft has departed for Nepal. The aircraft is carrying an 11-member specialised rescue team, along with essential rescue equipment and 5.5 tonnes of medicines. India continues to closely monitor the situation and provide all possible assistance to Indian nationals affected by the floods in Nepal.
