Odisha’s Government medical colleges have made a strong mark in the latest Indian Institutional Research Framework (IIRF) Rankings, with SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack securing the 15th position nationally and moving ahead of AIIMS Bhubaneswar, which is ranked 16th. The rankings highlight the growing excellence in public healthcare education and services across the State. As per the IIRF list, VIMSAR, Burla has been placed at the 64th position, while MKCG Medical College and Hospital, Brahmapur secured the 74th spot. Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling congratulated all the doctors, faculty members, students, and staff of the medical colleges for the achievement. He said the rankings are a big proof of the improving standards of Government medical education, research, infrastructure, and quality healthcare services in Odisha.” This success reflects the hard work and dedication of our medical fraternity. The state government is committed to further strengthening health infrastructure and making quality medical education accessible to all,” the Minister added. The improved rankings of SCB, VIMSAR, and MKCG are being seen as a major boost for medical aspirants in Odisha and a recognition of the state’s efforts in building a robust public health system.
