The Revenue Department has issued a new notification making it mandatory for Government employees to take prior permission before leaving their headquarters. As per the new rule, all Government officials and staff must apply for approval 21 days in advance if they plan to travel outside the state or outside the country. The notification also states that leaving the headquarters or district headquarters without prior permission is compulsory. This step has been taken as many officers and employees were found travelling without prior approval. However, exceptions to the 21-day timeline can be made only in case of emergency situations. The Government aims to ensure discipline, accountability and uninterrupted public service through this stricter guideline.
