Prime Minister Narendra Modi has departed for Tashkent, Uzbekistan, where he will hold delegation-level talks with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The visit aims to deepen the longstanding friendship between India and Uzbekistan and further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries. The two leaders will review bilateral cooperation across key areas, including trade and investment, defence, digital connectivity, energy, education and people-to-people ties, while also setting the agenda for future cooperation. During his visit, Prime Minister Modi will participate in the 26th SCO Summit, marking 25 years of this important organisation. He is also expected to pay homage at the Shastri Memorial in Tashkent and visit the Mahatma Gandhi Centre at the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies.
